I was lucky to learn the basics of sewing by one of my most favourite dressmakers, Tess of BonBonBlythe.com, one hot summer day, several years ago. She drafted a pattern for a Susie sad eyes dress and I made it by hand. It almost took me all day! Here it is if you want to see it. After that I started teaching myself and sewing by hand, until Tess contributed even further by giving me her old sewing machine.

I've never had any proper sewing education and I've figured most stuff on my own. Therefore I'm by no means perfect, but I wanted to share how I do things and what works for me, little tips and techniques I've come up with. Boring old saying but practice does make perfect so if there's a will.. here's a few ways!
